STEP 1. Apply for FSA ID
The FSA ID serves as your identifier to let you access your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems. Its like the personal identification number you receive from your bank that enables you to access your account. Because your FSA ID serves as your electronic signature, you should not give it to anyone.
STEP 2. Gather Needed Documents
You and your parents, if applicable, should have the following records available to help you answer questions on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
- Your Social Security card
- Your Drivers License
- Your Permanent Resident Receipt Card (if applicable)
- Your W-2 forms and other records of money earned
- Your income tax return
- Records of veterans benefits
- Records of child support paid
- Records of taxable earnings from Federal Work-Study or other need-based work programs
- Records of student grants, scholarships, and fellowship aid, including AmeriCorps awards that were included in your (or your parents) AGI
- Current stocks, bonds, and other investment records
- Current business and farm records
- Current bank statements
STEP 3. Fill Out the FAFSA
If you have completed steps one (1) and two (2), you have applied for an FSA ID and have gathered a number of documents that will help you complete the FAFSA. Remember, completing the and submitting a FAFSA is FREE!! In fact, charging applicants a fee for completing and/or submitting the FAFSA is prohibited by law.

STEP 4. Review your aid
Once you have completed your FAFSA your information with show on your Navarro student (https://selfservice.navarrocollege.edu/Student/FinancialAid/Home) account within 3-5 business days. You can access your Navarro College Self-Service account to review your information.
