The City of Caldwell Wastewater Treatment Plant is a division of the Public Works Department. As a Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW), our commitment is to serve you, our residents, and to protect our environment and the receiving waters of the Boise River, through the operation and maintenance of the City of Caldwell sanitary sewer system. Caldwell Wastewater Treatment Division:
- Maintains over 300 miles of sewer lines and the city collection system
- Pipes range from 6" to 48" in diameter
- Maintenance of 4,970 manholes
- Operates 16 lift stations
- Manages a septic hauler dumping facility
- Serves more than 60,000 customers daily
- Operates a sewer system serving more than 20,000 households
- Has the capacity to treat 18.5 million gallons of water every day
- Removes 98-99% of all biological oxygen demand before the wastewater is discharged into the Boise River
- Performs multiple tests for process control each year
- Samples the Boise River weekly to ensure water quality
