Midwifery Care

I am thankful that Rissa was with us to support throughout my last pregnancy. She is calm, confident and I knew that my baby and I were in capable hands. She has found her calling and will be a tremendous help to many families as they welcome their new little people.

Why would I choose a midwife?
There is no cookie cutter formula for what type of women choose midwifery care. But, they do tend to have some things in common. Women who choose midwives and community-based birth (i.e. not at the hospital) want low intervention, unmedicated births. They want a care provider who takes time to get to know them and what they want and need during their pregnancy and birth. They typically are invested in taking care of their own health and their baby's. They want to be in charge of making the health care decisions that are right for themselves and their family. If this sounds appealing, midwifery care might be for you.
